Does a flip phone work without a screen? Yes!

phone01 300x225 Does a flip phone work without a screen? Yes!

A friend of mine stopped by last night, whipped out his phone and voice dialed his friend. I found this a bit odd, since I personally never use voice dial and I was surprised he even knew it was a feature of his phone. I soon noticed that the phone was a mere keypad, no screen.

Turns out he dropped it and the screen broke off completely, yet the phone still works. Hilarious, who knew a phone could operate without its head. Photos below!

Here is a look at the original phone.

Pretty cool that they make their products able to take such a beating! Unfortunately, every phone I’ve ever used with voice dial can’t tell the difference between “Call Mom” and “Call Uncle Robert!”

Yeah, that is another issue completely. Clearly this “new” phone is not a long term solution.

Maybe my old Razr would have worked better if I had broken the top off…

Uhm…. so how does he hear the conversation?

Robin Rath says:

@Jason through the speakerphone.
